Successful completion of this practicum enables students to move to the ISU Student Counseling Service (SCS) for practica during their second and third years, where they work with clients under the supervision of SCS psychologists and interns in a multifaceted campus mental health agency–one that offers its own selective, APA accredited internship. Our objectives are to promote and provide education and training for psychologists and counselors working in either professional or voluntary settings, whether full or part time with a view to raising the standards of counseling and psychology for the benefit of the community; to advance the education of the public that counseling and psychology foster well-being and facilitate personal and interpersonal growth and to enhance functioning across the life span.
