We're a geeky group of bloggers who started an on-line book club to share some of our favorite reads and discover new ones. When did books first come to be burnt in England, and what was the last book to be so treated? Seminar: Religion, Utopian Narrative, and Political Theory. We take up various units as I/they choose, unique to the class. Born of the Mysts: Finding something you weren't looking for

It has survived a damn sight longer than most 'real' scfi novels ever will. It's got everything - essentially it's about Imperialism and Rhetoric, but it has many lessons and much wisdom for those interested in learning about Imperialism, especially the modern-day form of 'Aid' and 'helping the natives' - but then justifications for Imperialism have usually been wrapped up in fluffy-feel-good 'humanitarian' terms A good SF novel should be, above all things, a good novel Trifecta: Book One.
